Our newest "family" members...

Well, due to some slightly unnerving events in March, we finally decided to bite the bullet and get a dog, well, two dogs. They were so cute we couldn't resist! We have been debating this for over a year now and it was time to just do it. We had researched different breeds and knew what we wanted from a dog and decided that German Shepards would be best. So, here they are... Deitz (the boy) which means "people's ruler" has a darker face, and Minna (the girl) which means "love" has lighter tan eyebrows and her ars always stick up. They are adorable and have already fit the role their names imply. Both are extremely well behaved and are already learning "come," "sit," "off," etc. Very smart if I do say so myself! They were 8 weeks old when we picked them up on Tuesday. Russell loves them! He gets excited when he sees them and he smiles and laughs when he watches them wrestle and play with eachother. They are good to him also, which is really cute. It is so neat to think that Russell is small enough that he will have no memories of this home and his childhood without the dogs as his companions.
